"Cave Johnson here. This next text involves something called 'Assimilation Gel.' I'll be honest, we have no idea what it does. Egghead who worked on it got fired. Didn't like the cut of his jib. But he took all his research notes with him when he left. Which included all his notes on how he made the stuff and what it did. So we'll have to figure out what it does the old fashioned way. So go ahead and jump around in it, splash it around, run on it, and if you want a bonus, go ahead and eat some! Don't worry. Lab boys tell me they are one-hundred percent absolutely positively certain that it prooobably shouldn't kill you. But hey, even if it does, that means we've deduced one thing it does, so win-win."

A commission of mine just got published by https://www.deviantart.com/kevoglumdraws Go and check it out. A nice five-parter with Chell.

Mostly just wanted to post this to get a new journal entry up. It also involved an acquaintance from Deviantart, so it felt appropriate for here.

The part of the dream that made sense (More on that later) involved :iconphantomdotexe: Phantom (That is, Phantom the writer, not Phantom the ivory-skinned cybernetic switch supervillainess) hosting/running a strange roleplaying activity/exercise of sorts online. To the best of my recollection, the activity involved all participants forming in groups of two. Each group of two had a 'relationship' of sorts, and the object was to figure out what that relationship was through roleplaying.

The relationships weren't just "Brother/Sister," "Dating couple," or similar stuff like that. I can recall relationships like "Went out for a year, head-over-heels in love with each other, but something happened and now they hate each other's guts." "A couple that were going out for quite a while before figuring out they were cousins," and so fourth. Pretty sure there was stuff like "Mad scientist supervillain and lackey who has all the common sense." And, of course, the classic "Superhero and supervillain are married in their civilian cover, but are archenemies in their super personas."

Of course, thinking about it now that I'm awake, I'm not sure how the game is supposed to work, how the two could roleplay without actually knowing the situation between them. I could see it if the two split up, talked with everyone else, and from then had to figure out what their relationship was, I guess. Perhaps it could be a neat idea, with some work.

Oh, as for the parts of the dream that made less sense? I was viewing this on the side of a semi-trailer. Not a semi-trailer with a screen mounted on it, just that somehow a corrugated steel trailer side could display a chat program on it. And the truck was parked at a ski resort in winter. Oh, and while I was watching this, I was peeling and eating hard-boiled eggs, but kept accidentally eating pieces of egg shells. And instead of chewing those, I apparently swallowed them in one piece. That was unpleasant.

Another journal entry detailing the thought process behind a commission.

As I've said before in a journal, I like to have a story in mind behind a commission. Not one I'd write, mind you, but I prefer to have something more substantial than "X character tied up/bound/chained in Y." Sometimes, my concept goes past a story behind the image, and also features an exploration of a particular theme or concept.

For today's example, let's take a relatively recent commission I bought from :icondachimotsu: ->
Eternally Bound (Commission!) by Dachimotsu

That's the Cloud of Darkness from Final Fantasy 3/Dissidia. Now, being that she's the end boss, she's almost a god/dess (Despite obvious physical features, she technically is without gender.), or at least a primal force of destruction. Tying her to a chair makes even less sense than binding She-Hulk in leather straps.

But beyond the idea of seeing CoD in bondage, this drawing is a thought I've had for a long while. Many ancient evils, dark gods, cosmic horrors, and what-have-you, are often 'sealed away,' awaiting some diabolical villain (or idiot hero) to destroy the seals and unleash them upon the world. (As a friend of mine said in an RP: "Fuckin' ancients never killing a malevolent evil properly. 'Oh no, we can just seal it up and leave cryptic statements to guide future generations, they won't have anything IMPORTANT to do.'")

From this, my first thought is a fetishy interpretation of being 'sealed away.' Of course, most such eldritch abominations tend to resemble demons, giant shadows, or masses of tentacles and non-euclidean geometry, so not all that appealing. (To most people. If there's anything the internet has taught me, it's that anything is a fetish for somebody.) But there are a few exceptions, such as the aforementioned Cloud of Darkness. Indeed, there's a handful of really powerful such beings in Final Fantasy (And some other games. Probably other stories, but I'm mostly familiar with video games) which fit the bill as 'great evil.' It wouldn't make much sense to tie them up with ropes or chains, but you could tie them with powerful arcane bonds. Hence a 'sealed evil,' interpreted in a fetishy nature, like the above. There's quite a bit of fun one could have with the concept of what such ancient seals would look like.

Moving on to the image itself, one reason I chose Sephiroth for this image is that he's a big fan of the Final Fantasy series, and is quite familiar with it, knowing all sorts of little factoids. (Such as how CoD's real name is possibly Famfrit.) This allowed the two of us to collaborate together to put in as many references to Final Fantasy 3 as we could. Obviously, we went with her appearance in that game, rather than her slightly more humanoid look from Dissidia. But beyond that, you note the crystals holding her limbs. Since the Four Elemental Crystals are important plot devices in FF3, it only makes sense that such powerful objects would be used to restrain/seal CoD. Note that each crystal uses a different element to restrain the select limb. The background is mostly a black void, with the exception of pillars with orbs on top. This matches the arena in the Dark World where you fight CoD in the game. Fittingly, the crystals are the Dark World Crystals, as opposed to the Light World ones you spend most of the game locating.

A lot of little details were thrown in, too. Such as the elemental crystals match up to their locations in the final dungeon. (That is, the Dark World Air crystal is in the upper left region, the Dark World Fire is in the upper right, and so fourth.) The runed bands that gag CoD and hold down her yellow tentacle heads are titled with the boss that guards that particular crystal. CoD's gag has Famfrit written on it, fitting the random bit of trivia listed above. (Sadly, I couldn't find any good "Final Fantasy Language," so we had to settle with Tolkien Elven Script.)

A minor note on an artistic choice. I chose to have the view be looking up at CoD, suspended in the air between several pillars. Aside from the making it look like the viewr is a vsitor to the Dark World stumbling upon the Cloud of Darkness's prison and looking up at her, I like how the perspective gives CoD a sense of power, even if heavily bound. Fitting a eldritch force of destruction that seeks to unmake all of reality.

Progress Report

2 min read
Three submissions in one year? I'd better slow down before I burn out!

Seriously, it feels good to post some stuff for once. I can't deny I'm a little disappointed at how few comments there are, but I blame myself for being dead for so long. (Either that, or there's almost no overlap between my few watchers and MLP fans.) It does make me wonder if I should submit a few works to groups for extra exposure. I'm open to suggestions for groups open for my works.

But to keep everyone informed on what else I've been working on:

Princess Pony
So, last journal, I said I had one chapter almost ready to post... That's still true, really. It's that I've been wanting more written before I post. I'm not sure how long the story will go on for, but I'm not even through part 1. (Wherever I decide to place that division.) Still, I should post Part 1 right away, here.

Trauma Center: New Scrubs
I mentioned I had a good deal written last journal. Reviewing it, and after numerous discussions with :iconkite-san: my fetishy muse Kite, most of what I have is no longer appropriate for how I want the story to go. I may post the old draft someday as a scrap, but for now, aside from the first two parts, I'll have to redo most of it.

Goblin Slave
A recent idea inspired by the works of :iconfaile35: Faile35. Not a fanfiction of his Demon's Due work, I hasten to clarify. Just a piece inspired by one of his peril scenarios. Still somewhat early in development, but it does have some progress.

Those are the ones I have progress on, but there are some others I'd really like to get back into... Especially old works with pompous blowhards and ever-suffering female assistants. (Both of them.)

Tablet Online

3 min read
Finally bought myself a tablet with Bluetooth keyboard. Samsung Galaxy Tab 3, I believe.

What does this mean? Mostly that I can write on the go, now. I've already been doing a bit of writing during my breaks at work. Glacially slow, granted, but I'm still writing, which puts my productivity ahead of what it has been for the last few years.

I'm avoiding putting games or anything else distracting on my tablet as well. It's part of the reason I can rarely do writing on my desktop. Too many distractions. (Admittedly, since the tablet does have Chrome and Youtube, there's plenty of distractions already.)

Of course, now I'm part of several other writing projects that don't involve this account, at least beyond taking up my time. Still, I'd like to get back into the swing of things.

There are quite a few stories in my head, but here's the ones that show measurable progress:

Captured
This starts out as an excerpt of the memoirs of a professional abductor and slave trainer. Which leads into part 2, which I'm not sure anybody will expect. The initial idea was a commission that would likely be too expensive, featuring too many damsels, and the most interesting part was the tale behind the commission. But I feel it needs some setup for it to work. Hence part 1. I'll give one clue: It involves ponygirls.

Princess Pony
This is the one I've been doing the most work on during my breaks. Learning what I have by reading other stories online, (Namely, small chapters read easier) I'll probably have the first chapter up relatively soon, possibly within the week. Medieval Fantasy setting. Also will eventually involve ponygirls, though first I need to set the scene.

Trauma Center: New Scrubs
This fanfic has been sitting... I'd say about 1/4 finished in my hard drive for years. Haven't worked much on it, but because of samples I sent to one friend, that meant it survived my last hard drive going kaputz. This is slighlty bondagey, but mostly appeals to latex fetishists. Not sure yet, but I may have multiple endings, since I can think of a few ways I want the tale to end.

Of course, those are just the stories I have measurable work done on. Still have other ideas, though I would like to finish up Pixel Inquisitor's adventures in abducting, as well as bringing back Galaxy Gary! I'm also considering writing up a quick idea document of a fetish based video game I have, mostly for funsies.
